5 Nights Amboseli Mara Safari
This is possibly the best safari combination in Kenya, where you will get to explore two richest wildlife destinations in our region.
We recommend 5 Nights starting with Praro Amboseli which it is a luxury permanent camp and it can be combined with any of our luxury camps or lodges in Maasai Mara. This can as well be best enjoyed through short flights between these two locations.
Below is just an example on how your 5 Nights/6 Days safari will look like, we can as well change based on your interests or in communication with your guide, lodge manager, any of your host or at the time of booking.
Day 1 - Nairobi to Amboseli
Our Nairobi representative or your preferred Agent’s representative will pick you up from your City Hotel or will receive you upon arrival at Nairobi JKIA Airport (International Airport) and transfer you to Wilson Airport for flight to Amboseli (It is 40 Minutes by Air to Amboseli Most flights leave at 7am or 3pm for Amboseli, we recommend 7am flight so that you maximize your day).
Arrive in Amboseli Airstrip at around 8am, because you land very early in the morning, our guide will carry a mini-breakfast for you to enjoy before you head out straight on game drive. Safari will start from around 8:30am to around 12pm or 1 pm when you will check in at the camp for lunch. (There is an option for shorter drive). After lunch you will enjoy the comfort of our luxury camp’s spacious main area, luxury rooms or our swimming pool area.
At around 3:30pm you will enjoy complimentary afternoon tea and go on afternoon drive in the Conservancy or National Park, we recommend staying in the conservancy for better chances to spot different species of Wildlife not seen in the Main National Park and as well to enjoy the exclusivity of our 35,000 acres private conservancy.
Your guide will stop in the conservancy for sundowner drinks and short drive to the camp just before darkness.
After safari you will enjoy your evening by the camp fire or one of relaxing areas before dinner, you will then have dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 2 - Amboseli
On this day you will have two safaris, one in the morning and another one late in the afternoon (There is an option for full day drive)
Wakeup call at 5:15am (have tea or coffee )and start your safari at 6am looking for cats such as Lions and Cheetahs as they are very active in coolers hours of the morning or as well watch big herds of elephants as they head back to the swamps to feed and drink water and by 9am your guide will stop for breakfast at Amboseli Observation Hill or any other designated spot by the Park Authorities. (There is an option for driving back to the camp for breakfast and then choose to enjoy the camp’s amenities, go on walking safari or Maasai Cultural visit before lunch time)
You will head back to the camp for lunch at around 12:30pm and after lunch you will have afternoon rest. In between you may choose to have massage or enjoying our swimming pool area. Your afternoon safaris start after high tea at 3:30pm and head out on a thrilling safari as you look for what you will not have seen on your first day of safari and as the day comes to end you will proceed to the camp for African bush stories at our campfire or any of our relaxing lounges.
Dinner will be served and overnight at the camp
Day 3 - Maasai Mara
On this day you will have early breakfast at the camp, leave for Airstrip at 6:15 am for Amboseli Airstrip where you will catch a flight to Maasai Mara at around 8:00-8:30am if you are connecting through Nairobi or direct flight to Maasai Mara.(There is an option for packed picnic breakfast to carry on with yourself in case you do not want morning breakfast at the camp.)
Arrive in Mara Olkiombo Airstrip at around 10:00am to 11:00am, Safari enroute to the camp and arrive at the camp to check in for lunch.
After Afternoon Tea at 3:30pm you will leave the camp for afternoon safari and be back to the camp just before darkness.
After safari you will enjoy your evening by the camp fire or any of our camp’s relaxing areas before dinner, you will then have dinner and overnight at any of our camp/lodge of your choice.
Day 4- Maasai Mara
On this day you will have two safaris, one in the morning and another one late in the afternoon.
Wakeup call at 5:15am have tea or coffee and start your safari at 6am looking for cats as they are very active in coolers hours of the morning and by 9am your guide will stop for breakfast under a shade or along Mara River/Talek River or on the open plains of the Mara for picnic/Bush breakfast.
After your bush/picnic breakfast you will head to Maasai Village for Cultural tour. The tour will be on for an hour to an hour 30 Minutes. (This tour will be optional, check your package, it is included in some of our camps in the Mara and not included in others)
You will head back to the camp for lunch and after lunch you will have afternoon rest. In between you may choose to have massage or enjoy our swimming pool area at your camp of choice.
Your afternoon safaris start after high tea at 3:30pm and head out on a thrilling afternoon safari as you look for what you will not have seen on your four days of safari and as the day comes to end you will proceed to the camp for African bush stories at our campfire or any of our camp’s relaxing areas. Dinner will be served under open African skies (weather permitting), overnight at the camp.
Day 5 - Maasai Mara
On this day you will have an option of experiencing Maasai Mara up in the Air on a Hot Air Balloon. This memorable experience will start very early in the Morning leaving the camp at 5am for a balloon take of site 20-30 minutes of drive depending on your camp of stay. (There is an option not to engage on this activity which it comes at an extra cost)
Hot Air Balloons take off at dawn just before sunrise, and after approximately 1 hour 30 minutes of exploring Mara in the Air your ballon will land and the crew will drive you to a bush breakfast site for a lively champagne breakfast.
After breakfast you will have safari enroute to the camp. Lunch at the camp and relax before afternoon safari.
Afternoon safari starts at 3:30pm after high tea. Your guide will lead you to explore the beauty of the Mara until around 6pm when he will stop for a sundowner.
Sundowners are happy hours experienced in the evening as sun sets down over Maasai Mara’s open plains and after 5 days of safari with us we round it up in style with refreshing Alcoholic and non-Alcoholic drinks, our team and your guide will host you and share beautiful African sunset stories and as the darkness sets in and the sounds of the night active animals comes into live, we head back to the camp.
You will then have dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 6- Maasai Mara
This will be your last day in the Mara and you will have breakfast served in the camp and check out for Mara Olkiombo Airstrip for Morning flight to Nairobi. (We have 3 flights every day,8am,10:30am and 3:30pm flights)
If your flight is in the Afternoon, you will have an option of leaving for 3 hours’ drive and back for breakfast or choose to relax at the camp until when lunch is served. (There will be a surcharge for late check out and as well extra park fees)
After lunch you will then proceed to Olkiombo Airstrip for flights to Nairobi.
When in Nairobi our representative your preferred Agent’s rep will meet you for transfer to your hotel or International Airport.
